What JobReels collects, who can see it and how long it is kept.
Who we are
JobReels is run by Jobreels Ltd, a UK company, which decides how your information is used. We follow the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Contact ciaran@jobreels.co.uk about anything in this notice.
What we collect
Your name, email address and account type. If you sign in with Google, Apple or Microsoft, we receive your verified email from them, never your password.
Candidates: profile details, links, CV, introduction video, job preferences, saved roles, applications and interview videos. Employers: company details, roles and role videos.
Our security logs record your IP address and browser. We do not collect phone numbers, photos, payment details or messages.
How we use it
To run JobReels: publishing roles, sending each application to the employer for that role, keeping you signed in and protecting accounts.
We rely on our contract with you, our legitimate interest in running, securing and improving JobReels, and our legal obligations. We do not sell your information, show advertising or use analytics.
Who can see your videos and CV
Role videos are public while the role is advertised. Your introduction video is visible to you and to employers you apply to.
An interview video is visible only to that role’s employer, and no longer once you withdraw. An employer sees your CV only after shortlisting you. Administrators have no tool to browse videos.
Who we share it with
Employers see what you send them with an application. Amazon Web Services hosts JobReels for us, stores videos and CVs, handles sign-in and sends our emails, acting only on our instructions.
We may disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our users or JobReels and to enforce our terms.
International transfers
Amazon Web Services stores your information for us in the European Economic Area, in Sweden. UK law recognises the EEA as protecting personal information adequately, so no extra safeguards are needed.
If any other provider processes your information outside the UK or EEA, we use the safeguards UK law requires, such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
A role is advertised for 30 days or until the employer closes it. The employer can review its applications, including interview videos, for 90 days after that, then sees only that an application was made.
Videos are not deleted automatically at the end of that period; they are removed when you delete them or your account.
Deleting your account removes your profile, videos and CV at once. Backup copies are gone within 90 days, and we keep only what the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, restrict or object to how we use it, or receive a copy to take elsewhere, by contacting ciaran@jobreels.co.uk. You can also download or delete your data yourself from your account page.
You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
Children
JobReels is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use encrypted connections, private storage for videos and CVs reached only through short-lived links, virus scanning of CVs and two-step sign-in for administrators.
No system is completely secure, so think carefully before uploading sensitive information.
Cookies
We use two essential cookies and nothing else: one keeps you signed in (up to eight hours), and one protects a Google, Apple or Microsoft sign-in for ten minutes. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
Changes
We may update this notice. The date of the latest version is shown at the top of this page, and we will tell you about significant changes by email or on JobReels.
